1 October 2006Hot on the heels of winning Gold for Packaging Innovation at the Australian Dairy Industry Awards held in Sydney on July 25th, Bannister Downs was awarded a pretisgious Gold Award at the Perth Royal Show for its latest product - Café au Lait, a unique Iced Coffee, made using real coffee beans from Yahava of Margaret River, to give it an authentic flavour. Café au Lait has no artificial sweeteners, or powdered additives, as well as being low in fat and sugar, it is sure to be a popular drink over this summer in WA!For the second year in a row, Bannister Downs once again took out the prize for the Best Full Cream Milk at the 2006 Perth Royal Show - with over 20 entries from all over Australia, and a panel of judges from within WA and interstate, we are very proud to have received such commendation for our frontline product. We have recently installed a brand new batch pasteuriser which has improved the way that we process our milk (still with low temperature and long time ) and will allow us to remain in this system, allowing for growth of volume. We are awaiting a mini batch pasteuriser so that we can make very small volumes of our promised Double Cream, hopefully not too long now! Our whipping cream is now available in a 500ml pouch with our jersey cow 'Annalise' on the front - you will notice the real old-style creamy flavour of this pure premium product. We also have large tubs of it available for café and restaurant use. At Bannister Downs we are all counting down until 24th October, when the WA Winners of the Telstra Business Women Awards are announced. Sue Daubney was nominated in May 2006 and has been through the application and interview processes and is now excited to have been short-listed as a finalist in both the Business Owner Category and Innovation Category. So far her journey has been very interesting, meeting other finalists and past winners, all of whom are very inspiring and willing to share their experience. Stay tuned for our next update and keep drinking the BEST milk in WA! Proudly WA owned and made!! Mat & Sue
