Local Girls Cream the Big Guys! (4/10)
30 May 2010
The WA dairy industry showcased its product on Saturday night at the WA Dairy Industry Association’s Gala Awards Dinner, which recognises the finest dairy products available to the WA consumer. (29/5/10)
Taking out the honours for Grand Champion Product was Bannister Down’s Premium Double Cream, beating large global brands such as Peters Brownes (owned by Fonterra, New Zealand) and King Island (owned by National Dairies, Japan).
Sue Daubney (Managing Director) of Bannister Downs said it was pleasing to compete against the big guys and this result demonstrates that a constant focus on quality will bring rewards for any business.
Bannister Downs Dairy Company proudly took home 5 Gold and 2 Silver Awards meaning an excellent result for a company with a total range of 7 products. First Place was awarded to BD’s Farm Fresh Milk which is highly regarded by Perth’s finest cafes, as well as First Place in the Coffee Flavoured Milk with Café au Lait, and First Place for cream products with the BD Premium Double Cream.
Sue said it was great to see so many WA family owned companies recognised, proving that consumers can confidently support local brands and reinforcing that their products are of a world standard.
Other WA businesses taking home accolades included Casa Dairies, Mundella Foods and Azzura Gelati.
Bannister Downs Flavoured milks are all made from natural ingredients with no added flavours, colours or preservatives. They are also very low in fat (Mango Smoothie 99% fat free, and Chocolatte and Cafe au lait 98% fat free).
Bannister Downs products are available from most IGA stores, speciality supermarkets and in select Coles Supermarkets within WA.
